- Arriving for the Musical Chairity event:
- The Musical Chairity game will be played downtown Strathroy on Front Street, between Caradoc Street and Frank Street.
- Check-in time is 10:00am to 10:15am Saturday, June 21st, 2008. Late arrivals are not guaranteed check-in.
- Check-in is required at the registration table. There you will be double checked for your height.
- There will be two games of Musical Chairity being played. Depending on your height at the time of check-in, you will be told which game of musical chairs you'll play in. The first is scheduled for 10:30am, and the second for 10:45am.
- How the game is played:
- Musical Chairity is based on the well-known classic game of Musical Chairs.
- Chairs for all players will be placed in a "row" pattern.
- Music will play for an undisclosed length of time.
- While the music plays, participants will walk in a clockwise circular pattern. At the same time a number of chairs will be removed. (The number will change depending on participation levels.)
- When the music stops, participants will attempt to sit in a vacant chair. If a vacant chair is unavailable for any participant(s), the game is over for those participant(s). If two (or more) people take a portion of the same seat at the same time, one of the judges will make a ruling as to who gets the chair.
- Music will play again, and the above process will continue until there is only one remaining player.
- The remaining player wins one of the grand prizes. A number of additional players will also be awarded a prize (to be determined during the game). Prizes are to be accepted as awarded.
- In the event of bad weather, the game will either be moved to a sheltered location or cancelled.
- In the event the games cannot be played to their conclusion, winners will be drawn randomly from the entry registrations submitted.
- Several judges will be on-site observing the games. Any decisions made by any of these judges shall be deemed final. Judges also have the final and sole right to change any of the rules or decisions at any time during the games.
- Cause for Disqualification:
- Running, pushing, shoving, tripping, making threatening actions, or any other unacceptable behaviour.
- Foul, threatening, or other unacceptable language.
- For any reason at all that a judge may feel is warranted at the time.
- No Refunds:
- Refund of any donation made is at the sole discretion of the event organizers. Partial or non-attendance is not cause for refund.
- Waiver of Liability:
- I am participating in this game at my sole risk and liability. I agree to hold all parties connected with this event harmless and free of any and all liability in connection with this event.
- Changes:
- These rules are subject to change at any time (including retroactively) at the sole discretion of the event organizers or the event judges.
